Description
One of my all time favorite photographs. I was on a north facing beach on the island of Tortola before the morning sunrise, patiently waiting for the light behind my camera and tripod. I thought that the mornings photographing might be washed out by the rains, but was happy to be outdoors and enjoying nature. It was a peaceful and serene Sunday morning. I always feel closest to God when I'm outdoors, in nature, immersed in a beautiful scene. For a moment the light of the morning sunrise shined through the clouds illuminating passing tropical rain shower, casting beautiful shinning light and color onto the emerald Caribbean Sea and the smooth wet sands of the Island beach. The light passed quickly and the clouds filled back in, but I was able to capture Mother Natures stunning display of light and color. The soft pastel colors of the sky and the silky waves washing the beach give the photo a very painterly quality. You can feel your feet in the cool wet sand, hear the sound of the waves washing ashore and smell and taste the salt air! On the island of Tortola, British Virgin Islands.
